Welcome to The Therapeutic Riding Equestrian Center’s new website. We hope that you will find this site both informative and useful.
The Therapeutic Riding Equestrian Center is an outgrowth of Therapeutic Riding of Erie County (TREC), a non-profit organization that has been committed to equine-assisted recreational therapy since 1981. In 2006, TREC began operating the Equestrian Center and offering full-time therapeutic riding classes. The Therapeutic Riding Equestrian Center is a first-class facility designed to create a friendly environment for learning and improving the physical, emotional and social well being of our clients.
We offer small classes designed for personalized attention, grouping students by skill level and age wherever possible. We also offer advanced classes and private lessons, each designed to ensure maximum benefit for the client. Coming in 2007 we will be adding Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, a program that will be run by a licensed professional and designed specifically for those with emotional and social needs. Also new this year will be summer camps, which will again be tailored to the specific need of each group.
Our goal is simple: create an environment and opportunity for the client to enjoy themselves while benefiting from the therapy provided through equine-assisted activities.
We encourage you to peruse this site and learn about the many benefits of equine-assisted therapy. We also encourage you to visit our facility and watch a class in session. I think you’ll be both amazed and impressed with how well the client responds to both the horse and our certified instructors.
Mission Statement: TREC is dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental, emotional and social well being of individuals with special needs through safe equine assisted activities.
